I also build prop replicas and sell them. I am working on a Resin kit for the UFO Shado Pistol. I only have screen caps to go by - but I will make a close replica Kit for the money. I will offer it on ebay when complete. I did not know there there was that many people interested. I love prop guns and REALLY loce the SHado Weapons. I have even made 3D models of them. Anyone interested in a kit - look at these other auctions - and drop me a line. Thanks. Gordon. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

But truthfully, unless you buy a license for your kit from Granada, it's no more an official UFO collectable than the Echogun... right? More accurate to be sure, and handcrafted - but not more official. I have no real problem with that, if I like it and equate with the UFO guns from the series, I'll buy it. If I don't, I won't. But I won't send messages to this list accusing you of ripping off fans simply because you're making unofficial SHADO gun kits... AT |

AT RESPONSE: I sent a message to the list to warn my friends and fellow fans to ASK questions first - before you BUY. Friends should look out for friends. I would be remiss to let someone jump off a cliff without looking. So I spoke up. No delaer should fear QUESTIONS and scrutiny if they are selling on the level. If it is a shady deal - they need to worry. WHY ARE YOU WORRIED about asking questions. I am not looking to exploit UFO fans - I was working on the model for a personal collection along with other friends. Why are you taking such a stance on WARNING the un-informed that some things on Ebay are misrepresented and rippoffs. I know the seller is a UFO fan. Are you the Seller on Ebay? That would explain your problem. I sign my name at the end of my emails - because I stand behind what i say. I notice you sign Initials - "AT" - Does not mean much. If you are going to say something - sign your name to it. I am not loking for an "Official" UFO Replica title - I would not sell it to anyone without stating it is a Fan produced resin kit reproduction - by a fan for fans. The prop kits are not commercially produced or offerred anywhere. I am not looking to sell you anything. This reference to the UFO Price guide - which I admit I have never seen - is somewhat suspect because PRICE guides are misleading to those who do not understand that a collectable is only worth what someone else is willing to pay to get it. I ask you would you pay $ 1,499.99 for the Pistol listed on Ebay as a UFO collectable? Why would you let someone else you know as a FAN pay that amount for someothing that may not be what it is represented? Friends don't let friends - Drive Drunk - or buy SWAMP LAND at premium prices. If the item is what it is stated - it should be able to stand up to a little scrutiny. If the item was selling for $ 20-40.00 - OK no harm - no foul. I was bringing up a point the UFO fans should be cautious - know what you are buying. I am not acusing anyone of outright fraud - I am trying to get fellow fans to ASK questions - be informed - BEFORE you buy - that is all. Why would you be so adverse to ASKING questions? AT- are you the seller on EBAY? Gordon. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |
No Gordon (and what's your last name?), I am not the seller on ebay. Are
you a pissed off, outbid bidder trying to warn everyone else off so you can steal it for a song? One assumption is just as logical as the other. I'm not worried about people asking questions - you didn't ask questions in your post; you simply stated the whole thing was a ripoff and that the deal was shady. Since you have no experience with the seller, the product, or UFO collectables, I believe your message was unwarranted and potentially libelous. A prudent person wouldn't have made a fool of themselves in front of the whole group by speaking up on a subject he had no experience in. I suggest if you have anything else to say to me regarding this subject you send it to me off-list. Your beligerance and ignorance are probably offending more readers than just me... no reason to subject anyone else to your ignorant crap.
