Hey Phil - I think that would be too too cool if we could have our very own
UFO/GA thread in TO as part of Torcon 2003. I don't think the $100 for 4 days is expensive at all (I paid $25/day to go to a s-f con in Halifax 5 yrs ago to see Marc Okrand and Majel Barret Roddenberry). The biggest expenses by far would be travel, accommodations and food. And of course all the $$$ we'd spend in the dealers' rooms!! ha ha. Email me off list if you think this idea might work. It would be a fannish gathering, a club meeting, not a separate track of the convention. How about it? Any Canadians here interested? Ciao - Pam |
Well Im American but my new bride is a Canadian, a possibility we
might go, sounds like fun. Wonder if the Con would consider bringing a cast member over? Not likely but if we showed enough support, maybe? I know, a long shot but life is full of them. > Hey Phil - I think that would be too too cool if we could have our very own > UFO/GA thread in TO as part of Torcon 2003. This is more a planned get together of fans under the umbrella of the bigger convention. As a fannish gathering or a meeting it works. But the convention won't be swayed to bring any media people in unless it's Joe Stracsynski who gets invited for his writing credits. Hmmm, any UFO script writers living in Canada????? Or Space 1999 Script writers. That might be worth looking into. > > Hey Phil - I think that would be too too cool if we could have our >very own > > UFO/GA thread in TO as part of Torcon 2003. He has a bit of a cold exterior, but can be quite nice once you get to know him. Especially if you get caught with him in a life or death situation .... > With a cool bronze car in the parking lot <g> Shaped a bit like an early seventies Corvette "Stingray", with Gull-wing doors? Yep. I've been for a ride. Smooth. It has a turbine engine, and British licence plates bearing the letters "IHTFP". ttfn, Teresa |
