>Is that £19.99 only available if you visit the shop in person?
They still seem to be £34.99 online which is too expensive for a cheapskate like me! Ta, -- Rob I went into the shop, so possibly that's the case. I thought the full price was too steep for me too, which was why I haven't bought any of these yet. Plus I've found the online store to be a bit unreliable when I was trying to buy Lord of the Rings stuff. I went to check my local Forbidden Planet (Liverpool) and found
them but they where all priced at £39.99!!!!! |
Not sure what the question is here, as £39.99 is the list price.
Batson toys are selling them at £29.99 which is little below list. http://www.batsonstoys.com/ --- In [hidden email], "Howard Davies" <howarddavies2000@y...> wrote: > I went to check my local Forbidden Planet (Liverpool) and found > them but they where all priced at £39.99!!!!! |

You think that's steep? How about $49.20US for shipping to the States! I get the impression they'd rather not ship here. : )

They are really heavy, whilst seven nicker is a lot it's not
gratuitously expensive as it not far off what other on line retailers are charging for post. --- In [hidden email], "Hemmings, R.K." <rkh@l...> wrote: > > Not sure what the question is here, as £39.99 is the list price. > > Batson toys are selling them at £29.99 which is little below list. > > > > http://www.batsonstoys.com/ > > > > > > --- In [hidden email], "Howard Davies" <howarddavies2000@y...> > > wrote: > > > I went to check my local Forbidden Planet (Liverpool) and found > > > them but they where all priced at £39.99!!!!! > > There's not really a question - this thread just seems to > have grown by itself into 'where can you get them cheapest?' > Thanks for the link - £30 isn't bad at all (£7 shipping > on top (uk) seems a bit steep though - will have to check > this on other sites.) > Cheers, > -- > Rob |

I have seen the tanks in the link on TV. It would be cool to motorize a PE Mobile. But I seriously doubt that the mechanism would be robust enough to adequately power something as heavy as the mobile. Those tanks are REALLY small and lightweight. Just an uneducated guess, so I could be completely wrong. : )

Claudia,
We're selling them at: http://fabgearusa.com Unfortunately, they have not reached the US distributor yet, so we won't be shipping them out for another week or two. Sorry for the delay to all who have pre-ordered, PE has got a new distributor and they are shaking out the kinks. They do have a distributor, but the distributor has not received them
yet. We're happy to ship to Mexico as soon as we get them in stock. You're welcome, Rob. The tanks are only 5cm long (2 inches), and about 90%plastic. You could still get them to see if they would work for your purposes. And if not, you've got a new fun toy to play with!

There are other alternatives which I'm pretty sure would be powerful enough, but at a price (UK£80): http://www.iwantoneofthose.com/search.do?productCode=BAT2TA I'm sure I've seen those at half that price, but can I remember where? P.S. That link with the large tank would definitely be more powerful. Thetrick is to fit the "mechanism" under/into a mobile. That tank is 1/24 scale. Not knowing how big a tank actually is, I'd guess that the toy one isat least a foot long. So the "running gear" from it would be too large. If you could use just the "guts" to power the PE mobile's original treads, you might get it to work. It also runs on 8 aa batteries. I think size is going to be a problem. Although I'm sure there are alternatives that would fit better. The trick is to hunt them down.
