Review: UFO the complete Shado File

lunadude2001 <russell_smith@ntlworld.com>
There is lengthy a review up on the Mausoleum Club of Umbrella's UFO
box set.

http://www.the-mausoleum-club.org.uk/xmb/viewthread.php?tid=15731

The reviewer claims it is the retro DVD release of the year, although
he admits thay may only last until Networks new Prisoner HD box ser is
out!

It is a pity that the Carlton, A&E, TFI, Italy, and Japan sets have all
been released, despite how good this one udoubtedly is, the impact
*has* been diluted. I'm just curious how many will dip for it, given
one will only be getting it for the extras?

>Goodness! That guy "Tannchbrae" sounds like the Umbrella equivalent
of Goebbels. To anyone already owning the Carlton, A&E sets and the
Fanderson documentary it is certainly not worth buying again.
Besides the best UFO "extras" are free on this very site!

Hi All,

On my "UFO Series Home Page", I've just added pictures of
the DVD covers for the 4 volumes:

http://ufoseries.com/videos

The quality of these pictures isn't great, so I'll update
these after I receive my set and scan them myself.

I didn't read the 'lengthy review' (could've gotten through War & Peace
easier), but if George Sewell did a commentary as planned, could you
give us your impressions (good job, bad job) once you hear it? I can't
afford ANOTHER set of UFO (DRAT!), and am curious.

Thanks!

I will certainly offer my impressions about all the various aspects of
the release once I get a copy. However, since I'm in the US and not
in Australia, I probably won't be the first person to receive a copy
and offer their opinion.

Oh, and since there seems to be a possibility that I will receive a
free copy of this DVD (as I helped with some of the extras),
I haven't even pre-ordered a copy yet. So this waiting around for
a potentially free copy will certainly cause some more delay (although
if I don't have a copy by October, I'll just go ahead and order one)

Marc:

Please remember that Australia is a different region format for DVD's.
Unless you have a multi-region DVD player, the discs from Australia might not be
able to play on your machine.

Oh, don't worry, I have plenty of experience with this... after all, besides
the UFO DVDs from the USA, I also own the sets from the UK, France, Italy,
and Japan!
