Hi all,
18 years ago today I started a UFO discussion group called "FAB-UFO". When the list server that hosted it eventually became unreliable, I moved the discussion here to YahooGroups. Back then, I never had any idea that this group would still exist 18 years later! Of course, it's not as active as it used to be, due to dwindling interest and also competition from various forums, Facebook groups, etc. But nevertheless, I see no reason to announce a "Washington Square" for this group. Also, I've been running my UFO website (ufoseries.com) for nearly as long. Again, this hasn't been updated nearly as much in recent years, although this is NOT due to lack of new stuff, but rather lack of time, due to various excuses that change from year to year. :-) However, I am hopeful that I'll find some time to add a lot more stuff to the website at some point -- I've certainly NOT stopped collecting new materials for the website, and in fact I've spent a fairly significant amount of time working on that in recent months (although don't go looking for it online just yet -- I'm still in "collecting" mode -- and if you want a hint, think "more photos" and "more scripts"). Thanks Marc for all your hard work on this and your web-page the past 18 years! (I've been with the group now for about 10 of those and plan to continue. I think it would be fun to re-open up episode by episode discussions like we have done before. I've always enjoyed discussions such as the Straker/Henderson relationship, etc. Thanks again!

Marc, Although I rarely post to the group I read most of the digest emails, so I'd like to say a personal thanks for all of your work in keeping the UFO flame burning brightly. I was about to post my thanks for all your hard work keeping UFO alive, only to get a news flash that Neil Armstrong has died.
I still remember that landing, just as I still remember watching the first episode of UFO on its first broadcasting in the UK. I am so glad that this site still keeps UFO alive for all the fans. In the early 70s I still remember eagerly anticipating the next UFO episode on Saturday evenings throughout the course of the preceding week. When it first aired I was absolutely in love with the series, but I did not know of anyone else who liked it at all. I really felt like ia closeted fan. It was great finding this group. I now feel vindicated that I was not odd in my appreciation of this show. Thanks so much for all your efforts, they are very much appreciated!! ------------------------------ On Fri, Aug 24, 2012 1:02 PM MDT Marc Martin wrote: >Hi all, > >18 years ago today I started a UFO discussion group called "FAB-UFO". >When the list server that hosted it eventually became unreliable, I >moved the discussion here to YahooGroups. > >Back then, I never had any idea that this group would still exist 18 >years later! Nope. You're not odd at all for liking UFO. Just like the rest of us here, you have more discriminating taste than "normals". :)
