I don't know the length of the model you have, but you can calculate it
from this.

Dave.

the plan is to turn the ugly green and orange into a white show looking interceptor. only thing missing is the missile and would like to make it look as close as possible im going to try using solid plastic round stock or light aluminum then paint using a good hobby metal paint

You know, if you're going to customize a Shado Interceptor, without spending lots of money on an expensive kit, you could do a lot worse than using a Dinky toy as a starting point. Despite the minor alterations needed to make it a functional diecast  toy ( ie: extra bumps on the wingtops to acommodate the screws, thicker stabilizer, thicker landing struts etc... ), it's actually a very, very nice replica and reasonably accurate. Also, you can't beat that old-fashioned diecast metal for durability.

if you can't find a replacement missile for cheap on ebay, I seem to remember someone selling replicas molded from an original online. I can't remember the website, but just do a google search. If I remeber correctly, the manufacturer was based in England.

Re: SHADO Interceptor

I got it off ebay for $8.00 & free shipping.  im either going to turn a solid plastic rod down or cast a aluminum rod and lathe it down then paint.  it will not be green either already have the enaml gloss white, red, yellow and black paint ready for it to show up

Here's a link to a page that shows what you can do with one of these old models.

Look fabulous and much better than the original!
