SHADO... all system operational

Rainer Resel
Hi!
I'm a newbie to this group and I'd like to introduce myself to you:

My name is Rainer, I'm 35 years old and I'm from AUSTRIA. I love the
UFO-series since I first saw them on Austrian TV around 1986. I always
looked for a group to talk with members about our favorite TV show...

C ya,
Rainer

Hello Wendy,

thank you very much for your nice words. I'm very happy to be a member of this group! By the way, I didn't know that this show has also been broadcasted in the US?

C ya,
Rainer

Yes, UFO was broadcast across America in 1972 and 1973,
and then was also rerun repeatedly throughout the
mid/late 1970's (and even showed up occasionally
in the early 1980's in some areas).

And later, it was shown on the American Sci-Fi Channel
in the 1990's.

Thanx for the info, Marc! I suspect this also "happened" to the UFO-follow-up Space:1999.
I'm curious if both series were successful in the US or not?
Altough I'm too young to say it definitely, I've read that in Germany UFO has been broadcasted around 9 p.m. and that it was a huge success altough 8 of 26 episodes were not synchronized to german including the very last episode "The Long Sleep". ???
I know the series from the rerun during the 1980ies on Austrian Television.

Yes, I think Space:1999 followed the same pattern, although in my area we
never got a first-run of season two.

I don't think either series was particularly "successful" in the US.
I watched them, but I watch all sorts of shows that get canceled
pretty quickly (even these days!)
