SHADO fonts created in Italy!!!

Raffa Marco
Hi all!!

I'm Marco Raffa from Isoshado!

We're really busy for our next convention with Gabrielle Drake and Michael
Billington next weekend!!!

This night I've discovered an interesting thing....

SHADO fonts, MICROGRAMMA, are Italian-style fonts!!!

They was designed in 1952 by two Italian designers, Alessandro Butti
(1893-1959) and Aldo Novarese (1920-1995) for Nebiolo Typoghraphic Factory
on Turin, Italy. They were also creators of similar-font Eurostile, and
others!!!

For those interested, all information on
http://www.myfonts.com/FontFamily2759.html and following:
http://www.myfonts.com/Person230.html
http://www.myfonts.com/Person107.html

....another Italian contribute to UFO style!!!!

Microgramma fonts (bold and med) can be easily downloaded (zipped) at this
address

They also seem to own 95 percent of everything that is UFO - I say we go
raid their stockpile.

In Italian, his name would be Eduardo Vescovo I assume...
Lots of people have Italian blood in their veins, after all the Romans
overran a large part of Europe. A long time before the Europeans started to
'conquer' America. Difficult to sort out just what percentage of one's
blood comes from where :-)

Oh, really? I hadn't realized that.

You know, Tigger has had me watching a Gerry Anderson show called
Supercar lately and I never realized before, there is a character on
that show who looks a whole lot like Vladek. He is Master Spy's sidekick
(don't know his name) He doesn't sound anything like Vladek, but do you
think the puppet was modeled after Vladek? Anyone know for sure?

It's funny you should mention that. A few weeks ago a friend and I
were watching "Timelash", and we were commenting on how Dr Jackson
(Sheybal) looked like a marionette.

Maybe there's unconcious connection but I don't ever recall seeing any
episodes of Supercar. As it is I'm barely old enough to remember
Fireball XL5 and even then I think it was already in syndication.

Hi, Y!

Yesterday I looked into one ep of SUPERCAR (High Tension) to make
sure and you are right: Zarin (that's the name of the character)
looks indeed like good ol' Vladek. Hm, I can't imagine that it was
modeled after him (the show was made long before UFO), but who knows?
Maybe the puppet builder was a little fan of Sheybal?

Sheybal sure did remind me of a marionette, a cute
little one at that. I think that always endeared me
to Dr. Jackson. ;-)
