No, you can reserve domain names for future use... my wife is for a website she's planning on opening "sometime"... :-) Hadn't seen "shado.org" though... I remember a few years ago a list member had "shado.mil.org" or something like that, and it really did work! -- Marc Martin, [hidden email] |

I've just had occasion to check a couple of DNS entries,

A few weeks back I tried most combinations of shado (.org, .com, .net, .whateverelse) and found they were all taken but one (can't remember which one .cc or some such????). Even shado.be was taken, I believe, although I can't really remember now. Pretty confusing, these days, seems like lots of commercial companies use the country extensions, which until recently were supposed to be reserved for non-profit organisations? Anyway, just for fun, I tried to apply for the shado.whatever-it-was domain that was available and the first question I was asked was whether I had the right to apply for that domain name, and they wanted proof that my company was called shado. There endeth the story... BTW, after moving to Antwerp at the end of last year (and of the last century and the last millennium :-) I spent the first week and a half of this year (century, millennium :-) trying to make the flat look presentable (which it doesn't yet, actually, we're still short some furniture :-) after which I started looking for work. Just got a job yesterday, working for FCE plc which is the Ford (the car) credit company that takes care of leasing etc. Will an eventual UFO2 need another chassis of a Ford Granada (wasn't that the one or am I remembering wrong?) to build another Straker or Paul car? Might be interesting :-) CU Lieve * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Lieve Peten, Vlaanderen, Belgium : Mailto:[hidden email] * Internet Sites link page: http://pinball.iwarp.com/mysites.html * The Pinball Site * Loch Ness + UFOs in Belgium * Vangelis * * Nikita * UFO TV-series * Animated Gifs * Andrea Bocelli * |
