As well as non existant emergency oxygen points, why didn`t the pilot
escape throught the Intercepter entry shutes.

Perhaps too far to go in time. Moonbase is quite a big place.
Perhaps he didn't notice the leak until it burst.
If there was a UFO about, the Interceptors would be away, and the chute would
dump him in the airless empty Interceptor silo.

But this does tie up with the thread about that in reality Interceptor pilots
would wear full space-type pressure suits and not merely riotsquad-ish visors,
and if he was on standby he would be in his suit already, and if the room
burst open to space he would only have to slam his helmet faceplate down shut.

Perhaps the alien helped Foster hoping that as a reward SHADO would treat the
alien reasonably and not mistreat him or shoot him on sight.

Thanks for the reply to my post. I didn't mean to imply that ENEMY MINE
ripped off UFO. I remember seeing a similar story on an old COMBAT episode
with Vic Morrow. Although not a unique theme or plot, it can be done well
in alot of different scenarios as SURVIVAL
illustrates along with the others.
