Some Final Thoughts on The Dalotek Affair

JEK
With regards to the restaurant sequence in the teaser, did anyone
notice that the fellow in the purple jumper and light blue top to the
left of the Dalotek table is virtually a ringer for Michael Billington?
If this were some other series, I would suspect that it was a
stunt-double earning some additional pay, but I have never heard
details on any UFO stuntmen.

Between the restaurant set design, Tracy Reed's ridiculous makeup,
and the use of the upbeat theme during the episode title sequence,
there seems to be something of a whimsical feel. Perhaps this was
intendend to offset the dryness of the Stranges interview at the
episode's introduction. Did anyone else find Straker's reference to
this interview rather forced?

And at the risk of flame, I will venture that Foster's pickup of Jane
Carson
in the restaurant is impetuous womanizing and not a matter of faith in the
SHADO amenesia drug. The last thing SHADO needs is an operative that
risks recalling subliminal memories in a civilian, especially when that
operative is a prominent Colonel.

Well I think there were stunt doubles used here and there in
UFO - I can't remember a specific episode off-hand, but they
aren't that hard to spot.

See!, he's the spitting image of him, so they used him for the scene where
Straker is beating up the machines in the control room. This double is
everything our dear commander is not <grin>, not blond, not svelte, not
gorgeous!!!!! <sorry>

Hey don't forget the actor that you are suppose to think is Straker who gets
shot and then Straker comes over to congratulate him on the scene and you see
the blonde wig he is wear pushed back to reveal his own hair in on of the
episodes. That was a stunt double playing a stunt double for a actor and
most likely knowing how they like to save money was most likely really the
one they used for Ed Bishop in the series.
