It would be interesting to find out how much
it would cost the various governments & space agencies to get rid of the space garbage, over what time period, not to mention the type of facilities needed to undertake the job! |
A new niche business? Space clearance? Using space vacuum cleaners?

Wouldn't it be cool to be a space garbage collector though? As a piping designer, I've come up with an idea to take care of "space pee". Any investors? Paul |

At some point it might be a very profitable business, provided you get to keep what you pick up.

No. At the beginning of ALIENS, the escape shuttle (or whatever it is called) containing a sleeping Ripleyfrom the mining ship Nostromo (from Alien), is found by a deep space salvage team after 57 years.

P.S. So you were close. Alien was about a mining ship crew that got more than they bargained for. : )

Well, he didn't "successfully sue" - it was settled out of court for
an undisclosed sum of money, plus partial film credits. On Mon, May 18, 2009 at 12:46 AM, naughtyhector <[hidden email]> wrote: > You mean "Voyage of the Space Beagle" by A.E.Van Vogt who successfully sued > for copying part of his story?! -- Mario http://mario.silent-tower.org/ |
Time plays tricks on the memory...still sounds like a success for him rather than the studio!

The Terror from Beyond Space (1958) considered suing for plagiarism but didn't. |
