Sub-Smash DVD question

stevec
Hi all;
Last nite I watched Sub-Smash, several places in the episode it appears that
the DVD was stuttering, such as when Skydiver is running on SeaSkim, has
anyone else noticed this? The first Box set ran fine.
Thanks;
Steve Christensen

I have a grim suspicion that we may have a problem disc here. Mine
also had a few problems. And I think there are also problems on THE
CAT WITH TEN LIVES.

I hope this isn't the case...but I think its a forlorn hope.....

Further to my previous post, I have now played the DVD in my second
DVD player AND on my computer with no apparent problems. Still seems
to be a little bit of a problem with my one DVD player though.

Strange...!

There is 'video jitter' for the
opening 12 minutes of SUB SMASH.
This is definately an authoring
problem,but is the only one I have
noticed on all 26 episodes!--- In

Sorry to hear that some people are having problems with Subsmash
- no problems with my own DVD copy, I'm glad to say - very
smooth, no stuttering or jerkiness at all. Just checked this, it
seems fine.

What kind of player are you using James?

Brand, model and is it progressive scan?

I only ask because sometimes some players will have trouble with a
particular title and others won't.

It would be interesting too to find out those having a noticeable problem to
let us know their DVD player.

Anthony;
I'm using my computer PIII 550, 320 megs RAM, 32 meg video card, NEC 16X DVD
Drive. The first box set had no problems and I'll have to try afew other
DVD's. I have played several besides UFO, such as Highlander and some of the
Avenger's. All no porblems. I'll have to try it again.
Thanks for all the input.

Hi Anthony,

Toshiba SD-2109, not progressive scan. I also have a Panasonic
DVD A-250, haven't tried it with that one yet though.

Of course both are native PAL machines, I wonder if the 'jitter'
is something to do with PAL-NTSC conversion?

My PC is prone to the occasional stutter with ANY disc, probably
because it could do with more memory and a faster CPU, so I won't
bother checking that!
