Hi all,
My wife has been making fun of me for the amount of time I've been spending trying to "optimize" a photo from TIMELASH in the past day, so I thought I'd share... Here is a photo of Straker with his rifle from TIMELASH, which has been on my ufoseries.com photos page for years: http://ufoseries.com/temp/straker_rifle--.jpg Not very good quality, since it's low resolution, and has a brownish color cast and not much detail. I think this was a scan of a print that I once got from ISOSHADO. So I decided to update this. This time, I used a scan from a 2 1/4" negative that I got from Paolo Malaguti, and did some photo optimization on it, and uploaded this to my UFO Facebook page: http://ufoseries.com/temp/straker_rifle-.jpg So that's got higher resolution and no more brown color cast, but after looking at it a bit I decided that that background cement was too green, and Straker's gun was too blue. So start over with a 3rd attempt, which is now on my ufoseries.com photos page: http://ufoseries.com/temp/straker_rifle.jpg Okay! Much better colors, and about as good as I'm going to get off of that negative. Certainly I could do better if a 2 1/4" positive transparency surfaces in the future (as the positives seem better overall than negatives), but at least this is much better than what I had before... Hi Marc,
I feel your 'pain' and frustration... I have a similar problem getting teased for the amount of work I put into my artwork... mostly details that will not be seen or appreciated at all. But, it's the kind of thing that keeps me awake at night, and just won't stop niggling me until its just right :) Yes, number 3 without any shado of a doubt. Well done, and thank you SO MUCH for your hard work; it is REALLY appreciated!! Best, Griff PS. If you need some backing up, please tell Tracy from me that these things ARE REALLY important, and just HAVE to be RIGHT! |

Heh, I think my wife thinks that posting photos is just a matter of finding a photo on the Internet, and then sharing it. What I do is completely different, as I start with a piece of film, or a scan that someone has sent me, and have to turn it into something that looks good.
So others can can find it on the Internet then share it. :-) Marc |

In other words you actually provide *new* online content, something in which you have excelled over the years. It *is* appreciated, I assure you! :o) Best, --
