UFO Locations

Yeh...one of my obsessions,must admit.Like those before and after photos.
It can be difficult with modern views of Pinewood.What I tend to do (and this pure Nostalgia) is to use old photos of the studios (including MGM British ) from around the time of UFO and use those as reference points.There are two good photos in the SHADO photo section of both Sudios around this time.I am sure there must be others somewhere.

Quite often other ITC shows of the time also show good views of the studios that would be instantly recognisable to fans of UFO.

Having said all that,there are quite a lot of locations on UFO I have never located.Neptune House,Foster's Appartment,the Countryside locations and the Glorified health farm t name just a few examples.

Here's an interesting one, Radlett Aerodrome/Airfield - the airfield shown at the beginning of Identified when General Henderson, Colonel Straker and the Minister begin their fateful journey in the Rolls-Royce...

Lat: 51°43'2.32"N
Long: 0°19'39.22"W

The airfield has been long closed (it was an airfield used by a Handley-Page Halifax bomber squadron in World-War II), but here is a link to a site with some pictures and further info:

Some of the photos are still recognisable from UFO.

BTW, the control tower is no longer there (I've been there), and much of the runway was dug up as ground or hard-core for the M25 motorway. I believe there are now plans to develop the site for housing.

Instead of Google Earth, I would use maps.google.com You can input addresses and pull of satellite views from their too. A little easier then figuring out long and lat of locations.
