All this talk (well, some of it) about the UFO music has promted me to write yet another e-mail that's probably old news to you guys (and gals, how's about that then?). There are rumours that Fanderson are planning a release of UFO music this time next year, and it'll be a double CD like their two releases of Space 1999 music. So be prepared to groove to the slinky sound of Harry Stoneham's Hammond organ. (For the Brits amongst us, Harry was the guy who provided musical backing with has band for the Terry Wogan talk shows of the eighties.) Also, a version of the UFO theme is available on Sci Fi's Greatest Hits Vol 3. It's supposedly not *the* one used in the series, as the instumental mix is slightly different, but it's almost certainly from the same sessions. I'm listening to it now, and I think the drumming is not harsh enough. _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. |

A fan-produced CD-R containing 70 minutes of music from UFO does exist, and I assume that this is what Jason is listening to in his car? You can get one of these by e-mailing [hidden email] The Fanderson UFO soundtrack CD is, as Gareth states, something that's still in the rumor stage, and is *not* out already. And yes, the UFO theme on Sci Fi's Greatest Hits Vol 3 is not "the real thing", but it's close. They incorrectly used "take 3" when the real take was "take 4", and whoever mixed the various instrument tracks didn't make any attempt to match the original mix, so it sounds a bit strange... -- Marc Martin, [hidden email] |

Does anybody know the key sequence needed to set the ring tone of a Nokia phone to play the UFO theme song? Ron |

If it makes you feel any better Sheila, it think it depends on the model of Nokia you own as to whether you can compose your own tunes or not!! I've got an 8210, which doesn't do it - err, unless I've missed something vital! :(( Having said all that, I know there is a programme for Nokia that you can download & try for free for a while, that you can compose tunes on and also design your own graphics, which can then be transferred to your phone via cable or infra-red...
