I watched Threshold on it's original run, and it was pretty good. But I
wouldn't say it was similar to UFO. Threshold was a group that was the
frontline of the US government, to deal with alien first contact. The team
dealt with an alien event, from another dimension, trying to take over the
world on a genetic level, by using sound emissions. The team was brought
together in the first episode, and they were adlibbing their defense and
contact information as they went along using today's technology. It was an
interesting show, but I wouldn't have connected it to UFO, if not for this
post. One of the big reasons I liked UFO was the advanced technology they
used, and in secrecy from the world. In Threshold they worked under homeland
security, and congress. Not so much a secret. =-] But I did like the show.

that last year's "Threshold" TV series was quite similar to
UFO:
