Fans in the UK may recall the popular 'Smash' Martian robots hogging the limelight in the
1970s but while doing some research I stumbled across some b/w screengrabs, with 'script' and credits, for a Smash SF advert pre-dating this. It appears in the D&AD (Design & Art Direction) annual for 1971, so could have been pretty much contemporary to the last period of production, if the advert was produced in 1970. I've added a scan of the page (cropped to lose most of the white as the 'script' is pretty sparce), and would be interested to hear if other fans recall the TV commercial - I do now, but had forgotten it until seeing this... Nice find but alas absolutely no memory of that advert. Would they
have been called screengrabs back then though?! Yes they probably weren't called screengrabs back then but then it's a/ Christmas b/ I'd
been at the Baileys and c/ if I said 'photographic frame enlargements from a 35mm film print' I dare say I would have lost some people here... :-S Whatever. --- In [hidden email], "naughtyhector" <rod.mitchell@...> wrote: > > Nice find but alas absolutely no memory of that advert. Happy New Year everybody!
I wish you all that Konami UFO ultimate model turns out great, that we see UFO in some form of HD this year, that Sylvia Anderson's and UFO Tech manual books turn out to be fabulous, and, naturally, a lot of health, love and hapiness, everything that you wish for yourselves! All the best, Branko _________________________________________________________________ Don't just search. Find. Check out the new MSN Search! http://search.msn.com/ |
