By the way, for people who are going to pre-order
the A&E UFO DVDs, please note that if you're willing
to wait an additional month, you will be able
to get it for a significant discount. For example,
if you buy directly from A&E, UFO box 1 costs
$80 plus they charge a minimum of $10 shipping.
So that's $90. However, if you pre-order it
from www.DeepDiscountDvd.com, it will most
likely cost you $45 with free shipping -- that's
half price! The only drawback is that DeepDiscountDvd
won't be shipping until the end of July instead of
the beginning of July. But if you're willing to
wait, that's quite a price savings!

That's my plan. I figure I've waited this long, I'll just hold off for the
lower price. I've already got the Captain Scarlet set on pre-order with DDD.

A word or two on the packaging. I like the fact that A&E seems to have
noticed how other series are packaged (in those digi-pack fold out
containers) and decided to replicate that. I much prefer that to the
individual cases.

Where did you see that the A&E UFO set is going to be a digi-pak?

That's one of the things that I *don't* like about the
Carlton UFO Box 1. That digi-pak is kind of annoying...

Personally doubt it will be a digipack from A&E. They usually do individual
volumes within a box set. While I sometimes like the digipack style (for
presentation), the individual volume style is much more suitable for quickly
getting to a DVD.

Actually, I'm just assuming as such. The pictures of the SCARLET box set
seemed to be a digipak versus the individual cases, so I thought that A&E
had changed the presentation of the discs.

Have you heard different from the person you've been in contact with there?

Although I like the digipaks, I think they're a bit flimsy - one false move
and that's the whole package destroyed! At least you can get replacement
single volume packs

You can always get a CD wallet and keep the discs in there.

That still leaves the question of what to do with the digipak - knowing me
I'd stand on it!
