Hi Rob,
I checked this out tonight, it's the "Path of Destruction"
episode on volume 7 of the DVDs.
Not a baddie, just a security guard who wouldn't let Lady P have
a look at the personnel records, and the gun just put him in
a trance while she nosed through the file.
It _does_ sound a bit like a high-pitched spinner, but Gerry
Anderson made a lot of use of this kind of sound effect in
Thunderbirds, and I don't think it would sound quite the same
when slowed to the same pitch.

Sorry, can't capture the sound as my laptop's DVD drive doesn't
do region 2 :( I'm not sure if I have the software to do it
in any case, but maybe someone will be able to help.
By the way I picked up a paper in a coffee shop on the Strand
this morning, I think it was the Telegraph - or possibly the
Times - and there was a photo of Gerry Anderson with some toy
Thunderbird people (miniature Scott, Virgil & co). The story
was that Tracy Island is one of the most sought after Christmas
presents in the UK this year. I flipped the page, and the
next headline was "Skydiver crashes into roof at 150 mph and
survives"! I'm not making this up, honest ..
Cheers all
James
