Hi all,
I just got the following e-mail from Helen Weber: ------------------- I just got permission from Ed to tell you this and pass it along if you see fit. He just got a message from Philip Moffet and Philip says he just got back from a very successful trip to L.A. and the people he met there remember UFO and are enthusiastic about working on UFO 2. He also says Carlton's closer to selling him the rights and Gerry's looking forward to working on UFO 2. ------------------- -- Marc Martin, [hidden email] |

This is the greatest news I have heard in a long while! What a great
first post to see here! Just one question though. Are they going to follow the original UFO 2 format submitted in 1996 and keep the style and most of the hardware (including the UFO's!) the same? I hope much of it stays on earth as before and doesnt center on the moon as was going to be the case in 1973! Please keep us posted! > Hi all, > > I just got the following e-mail from Helen Weber: > > ------------------- > I just got permission from Ed to tell you this and pass it along if > you see fit. Why have I lent him my car? 'I have an eye on it!' he said. 'Thirty years without an accident.' he said. 'No worry, I would rather kill myself!' were his words. So THAT'S what he meant when he talked about a 'crash course'! I am such a stupid *****.... Now wait, Roper, if you've survived you will pay for this! I'll send you on the next suicide mission available... and if there isn't one I'll create one for you...." It just makes more and more sense... :-)) CU Christian ;-) |

Thanks, Sister T. for correcting the view on Mike B. regarding Mindbender. I
think he'd be much too professional for that kind of thing. In regards to Mindbender not not being shown, I recall seeing it yrs ago when the series first aired here in Atl Canada. There are any number of reasons why eps are not shown from various series. For instance, there is an eps which is rarely ever shown these days from the original Twilight Zone. It concerns WWII and the Japanese, and stars George Takai in a prominent pre-Star Trek role. It is rarely shown today because it depicts an attitude considered today as racist towards the Japanese. This sort of thing is similar to saying George Sewell got the axe with UFO because of his complexion! The colonisation idea was already a bit overdone in science fiction (sorry, can't get the accented 'e' on my laptop keyboard) when the first UFO series was made at the end of the '60s. With different aliens as well as different active SHADO crew the scenario would be very different. Perhaps let some of the UFO 1 aliens take refuge on Earth and they help SHADO. Or see http://www.buckrogers.demon.co.uk/ufo/end.txt and http://www.buckrogers.demon.co.uk/ufo/end2.txt for another possible follow-up scenario :: the UFO 1 aliens land in public but don't take over. |
