Voice of SID

Doug Morris
Hello Everyone,

I am a new member here, and, like all of you, I am fan of UFO..... so I already feel in good company!

I have often trawled the internet for a photograph of Mel Oxley, the voice of SID, all to no avail.
Does anyone have an idea if there is an image of him anywhere?

Regards

Doug.

Hi

I have a friend at the BBC who said she could ask a colleague at the
photo library if they have anything...

That would be great, as I don't have a photo of Mel Oxley...

Hi All,

I still haven't heard back from my friend at the BBC. But, she is very
proactive, so keep your fingers crossed.

Best, Griff

Re: Voice of SID

--- Hello All

About the Voice of SID- Mel Oxley I believe he appears
in person in one episode of UFO - Confetti Check AOK.
When Straker appears at the United Nations committee
in New York The Chairman of the group is none other
than Mr Oxley Himself.
Mel Oxley also featured in another 1960's show called
Adam Adamant - there was a programme about this
recently on either BBC3 or BBC4 for British viewers.I
believe Mel Oxley played a butler/assistant to the
hero- played by Gerald Harper

hope this helps

Uhhh, in the end credits, the head of the UN is listed
as "Jack May". On Wikipedia, Jack May is also listed
as playing the butler on Adam Adamant Lives:

--- Thanks Marc For the info - I thought that The UN
Head's voice sounded similar to Mel Oxley's.

My mistake - thanks for the correction
