Yay! My SID has finally arrived!

J Ramage
My Konami SID has finally shown up! Just wanted to share the sense of
elation at having finally tracked one down for a reasonable price on eBay,
having just missed out on the last run. It's really neat, better than I
expected somehow. The rest of my set has apparantly been shipped from Japan
and i'm looking forward to seeing those too.

Just one question - the little white pellet things inside the box - they are
edible right?

Jess

Griff!
Hi All :)

I did (in a self-sacrificing act for this list ;) succumb and sampled the
little white minty things, and they were absolutely HORRID and REVOLTING!!!!
stuffed full of saccharin, and some other putrid sweetener.... YUK!

Phew... glad I got that out of the way...

Griff

ps. One of my cats liked them though... it had been rolling on the floor, so
it probably tasted better ;)

To each his own. I like them. Those figures are known as "candy toys".
I have a small collection, mostly figures based on Japanese tv though
I do have a coupe from Space: 1999. I haven't received them yet but I
did buy SID and a Rescue Eagle from Space: 1999 off ebay. I'd like to
get Skydiver and Sky One if I could find them cheap.

I got a set of six figuers on eBay - worked out a lot cheaper than trying to
buy individual models. There's a couple of sets on the UK auctions at the
moment.

PS, I am very glad those things are sweets, having eaten three then realised
that I can't read Japanese and for all I knew that said, DANGER, extremely
poisonous on the packet!

I didn't think they were edible. My wife wanted to eat the ones that
came in my kits & I told her not to as were probably like selica gel -
to soak up moisture. Then I read another auction description on Ebay
that it was complete except for the candy & figured I'd try one - not
too bad (not sure of the impact of eating the candy on eventual
resale :) ) I did feel honor bound to share & tell her she was right
after all - sees to be the story of my life.

I too have the Sid/Rescue Eagle & a coulpe of the Mobiles (being a
huge tank fan) & I am really really impressed & plan to get the rest
of the machines as most of the e-bay auctions are reasonable given
the quality of the kits - Being a wargamer as well - I want several
Eagles & Hawks & a platoon or 2 of Mobiles & that cool explosives
truck from the Joe-90 series - just not entirely sure what I'll do
with them!
