Is there a file out there where SID says "this is SID", not the longer
version "This is space intruder detector"?

heh, heh... is there an episode where SID says "this is SID" ? I've
only made an MP3 for the "this is space intruder detector", which
is from IDENTIFIED.

No, I don't recall an episode where SID says "this is SID".
Although I suspect that somewhere in the series this is
indeed said.

Well, perhaps if it was a more complex piece of dialog, then
it would be more memorable! :-) However, "This is SID" could
be in a lot of episodes... most likely in one of the earlier
ones...

Note that the SHADO library has transcriptions from several
episodes, and its not in any of these episodes:

Also, searching on the dialog continuity script from PSYCHOBOMBS
shows that it's not in this episode either. And it's in none
of the original scripts on my website either.

This is one case where transcriptions from all 26 episodes
would be useful!

I happened to be watching Reflections in the Water today - I was
amazed at how much of the detail of this episode I had forgotten. It
must have been several years since I last saw it.

Anyhoo, at about 26 minutes in, SID says "This is SID". At 10 minutes
in he says This is Space Intruder Detector"

Well, I'm sure that there are many ways to do this, but
the way that *I* do it is (on Windows XP):

1) Use VideoReDo to extract an MPEG-2 of the part of
the DVD you want (no quality loss here)

2) Use Aimersoft Video Converter to convert this
MPEG-2 to a WAV (video is stripped out automatically)

3) Use ngWave to do cut out precisely what you do not
want, slow down by 4% (if using PAL as source), and
raise volume level (saved this as a WAV)

4) Use Razor Lame to convert the WAV to MP3

That gives me this:

I won't add this to my "dialog" page, because it's got
that annoying sound effect in the background.

You can also use the following programs:

Audacity (Free) http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
Goldwave (Try before you buy) http://www.goldwave.com/

With either, all you do is press the record button and it'll record
directly to MP3 anything you're hearing through your speakers. It's
by far the smplest method if ultra-high quality isn't your goal.

got an MP3 for "This is Space Intruder Detector", and that's
good enough for me...

I'd like the file, but don't put any priority on it.
I tried using Goldwave to see if i could get rid of the background.
However, I'm not a audio tech.
