If you are happy using handtools, can solder, and have some
experience of making-up model kits, you could use the
innards of a cheap radio controlled model car (I've seen
them for £10 UK..) and fit it into the mobile above,
replacing the wired one. There's a good chance you could
keep the existing motors/drive-train to the tracks.
