is there any way i can load these to word pad and then listen to them on the reader program that xp comes with?
i would really like to listen to them, but converting them to audio is beyond my ken. i have a lot of desk work i do, and then i have to out on call to work, so i cant really just go thru page by page online like i would like to. it would be easier to catch up if i downloaded on big package and then listened while i worked here or on my mp3 player while i worked outside oncall. seriously trying to keep up, jim |

Well, the works hosted in the SHADO Library are available in HTML, PDF and
ePub. All the other links go to HTML and a few are to PDFs. Assuming any of those formats work with a reader, you should be able to just go down the title list and do a 'save link as' for the ones you want. That should go pretty quickly. There's a PDF to Speech program at http://software-download.name/text-to-speech-software-pdf/ that looks promising. It says it reads HTML and PDFs. Sorry I can't be of more help. _____ From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of [hidden email] Sent: Saturday, June 18, 2011 12:35 PM To: [hidden email] Subject: [SHADO] library of written works about U.F.O. is there any way i can load these to word pad and then listen to them on the reader program that xp comes with? i would really like to listen to them, but converting them to audio is beyond my ken. i have a lot of desk work i do, and then i have to out on call to work, so i cant really just go thru page by page online like i would like to. it would be easier to catch up if i downloaded on big package and then listened while i worked here or on my mp3 player while i worked outside oncall. seriously trying to keep up, jim [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

usually the way to convert something to a PDF file type is instead of printing a document, you also have a choice of creating a PDF file, like its another printer.

Here's the main alphabetical title list
http://www.shadolibrary.org/library/title.shtml And by date http://www.shadolibrary.org/library/title_date.shtml In Firefox and MSIE you can right click the link and it's either 'save the target' or 'save link as' depending on which browser you're using That will allow you to put the file where you want it. Since you don't have to leave the list page, saving them shouldn't take too long. _____ From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of . The stories hosted in the SHADO Library already have PDF versions. But print
to PDF would certainly work with HTML files elsewhere - CutePDF works quite well BTW. One minor issue, the print job will include all the rest of the HTML page it's on and you may not want that, plus I don't know how a reader would handle any extraneous material. Interesting experiment, though. Let us know what you find out. :-) _____ From: [hidden email] [mailto:[hidden email]] On Behalf Of Bruce Sherman Sent: Saturday, June 18, 2011 8:35 PM To: [hidden email] Subject: Re: [SHADO] Re: library of written works about U.F.O. usually the way to convert something to a PDF file type is instead of printing a document, you also have a choice of creating a PDF file, like its another printer.
