I ran out and bought Vanity Fair. Looked for ad and found it. Good taste in
advertising. Next time I am at Neiman Marcus will check out Marc Jacob Fragrance. Like sample in Magazine, asked my husband if he liked it, he did which is good as I will wear it when we go out. Might be a Christmas present. I will call it my UFO perfume. Elaine [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

>This is the music issue of Vanity Fair.
> >Page 137. Right opposite to the page giving details about DKNY Vanity Fair in >Concert. Well, not all Vanity Fair magazines are created equally I guess. On the version I have (which is indeed the music issue), on page 137 there is an ad for Style.Com. This is opposite of the DKNY Vanity Fair in concert page. :-( Marc |

>chuckle> I'll scan it and put it in Files. Thanks for the scan! http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SHADO/files/perfume%20ad.jpg However, the scan is so small that I *still* do not see anything resembling a UFO photo... Marc |

Marc:
I could be wrong, but I think somewhere in the middle is a blond guy that looks like Straker. But I think I'm wrong. :) Also -- it's possible that it was a regional ad, with your region getting something different. Perhaps Photoshop enlargement might help?

>Perhaps Photoshop enlargement might help?
>Just a thought anyway. There's not enough resolution in the original scan! But Anthony's right -- it looks like there's a UFO postcard just left of center. A UFO postcard which looks like this: http://ufoseries.com/marketing/itcCard.jpg Marc |

Yes! I can only make out his Ed-ness (verrrry slightly), but I bet that's the
one. I have one of these myself - it was sent to me by the ATV (British)
television system in reply to my request for some photos. It arrived in 1971 and I still have it. They later sent me autographed cards by Ed B. and Mike B. which I also still have. Pam |

Hey, now that I know what I'm looking for, I was able to make out the card
in that very small ad! Pam |

Yes, Amelia we know you only have eyes for his Edness. Heck, you can spot a
photo of Ed from 50 yards with one eye closed in a dimly light room! James K. (paying a compliment) [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

OK, I made a tiny version of the postcard and then a rotated clip of the
advert and put them together. There is absolutely no doubt now. Also about the advert, it would appear that the creator of it used real images pasted to a board and then photographed the lot. The UFO postcard he used clearly shows some curl. It's here in the files section: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SHADO/files/perfume%20ad3.jpg S |

Wow - my own UFO art card is in such pristine shape by comparison. Keeping
it flat for 32 yrs paid off, ha ha! But thanks for doing all that work so we could at least realize what they used for the ad. Pam |
