Far too bossy, but without the style of Ed Straker.I remember me and a friend would discuss each episode and Straker was very hard for us to work out.an enigma.anyway... cv > Communications Security Manager > Marsbase > > > > > Your use of Yahoo! OK, No, he doesn't have the same presence as Straker - but if he had, this would only have detracted from the very pivotal & central character Ed Bishop played, which was/is one of the most memorable in UFO, IMO. Alec Freeman's rather more "human" character within SHADO - the organisation of "beautiful people" - compliments Straker's perfectly as his sidekick. Lastly, Big bro Foster undoubtedly wouldn't get away with barking gruff commands at his female colleagues in THIS day & age without being hauled over the coals by someone at the top...! Di |

But what did i know at that age.And also his coiffure wasn't in the same league as Neds. > OK, No, he doesn't have the same presence as Straker - but if he had, > this would only have detracted from the very pivotal & central character > Ed Bishop played, which was/is one of the most memorable in UFO, IMO. Neuman was Eurosec Director Jason Webb's ramrod and security chief. He played a much darker, more sinister character. Without the freeman wig too. I am looking for the original "Get Carter" with Michael Caine so I can see more of this side of Sewell's acting. Anyone here seen it? |

Hi Teresa, > > I am looking for the original "Get Carter" with Michael Caine > so I can see more of this side of Sewell's acting. Anyone > here seen it? > Yes, one of my 'top ten' favourite films & we've discussed it here on occasion - but George Sewell's character is not particularly dark or sinister. He *is* a member of the same criminal organisation as Carter, but we only see a minute or two of him - he actually comes across as quite affable and jokey, as if it's really just a job to him - there's none of Carter's cold brutality or menace. It's out on DVD now in the UK and highly recommended - a landmark film for the British cinema. Cheers James |

In fact, the whole EuroSEC complex was a pretty rough place in general. MP's all over the place, laser barriers, flouroscopes for document vault access, an interrogation room!?! Director Webb is pretty ruthless too. A scientist (Dr. Hassler, played by Herbert "Dreyfus" Lom) is leaking information (photgraphing top secret documents with a camera hidden in his glass eye) and Webb orders Neuman to rub him out. Neuman: We're serving up information on a plate! to our *prime* suspect! Webb: That's my responsibility. Your responsibility is this. *If* he shows his hand, I *don't* want an arrest. Understood? Neuman: Understood. <shoots Hassler six times in his bathroom> Then there's the interrogation room "so you turned back! why? Why?! WHY!?!?! WHY!?!?!" Interesting movie overall. B+ I would have loved to have seen it on the big screen, if only to see "A Gerry Anderson Production" in big white letters.... ttfn, Teresa > |
