slightly off topic

Railhead
This is slightly off topic, but does anyone on here know what happened to
hactar.space-1999
the newsgroup for Space 1999 discussion? I'd noticed there had been no
recent postings, so I posted a feeler message, which was promptly bounced
back saying the newsgroup was no longer valid.
has it changed? cancelled?

also, i saw something about a space 1999 discussion list like this
one...what is the web address to sign up?

Here is the link for the site you were asking after:

http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&group=hactar.space-1999

There are posts from the past few days (and today) on there....

The other group mentioned was Online Alpha:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/OnlineAlpha/

Hope this helps...

Bryan

I just checked it via google.com and it's still there and active (SpaceCon XV
info has been posted).

The Yahoo!Groups "Online Alpha" list similar to this SHADO list can be
subscribed to:

Web site:

Thanks Bryan, actually the OnlineAlpha was what I was asking about. I
don't know why but all of a sudden I can no longer access hactar.space-1999
from my ISP. It has been available for many years in the past, but is now
listed as an extinct group. I don't care for reading messages on websites,
so I'll go with OnlineAlpha and get the digests in my mail each day. Call
me crazy, but I'm one of those people that prefers that all mail be
downloadable, and readable at any time, whether connected to the net or not.
