Well, of course there are. Me, for example. Also, I'd say that the majority of the people on this mailing list are in the United States. But what's your point? :-) Marc |

Old mailing list member from Rocky Point New York, right on the Long Island
sound close to the Skydiver yards in New London CT! As for conventions there was a very successful Space 1999 convention in Tampa last year with Barry Morse and Nick Tate. For this year it will be held again in Tampa and we're waiting to see if there are enough memberships to afford a guest. Early on one of the suggestions for a guest was Ed Bishop! I don't think that will happen but I think Ed would make a great guest, even at a Space 1999 convention! Want to get Ed Bishop or other UFO cast to Dragon con? I bet they could afford them as Dragon con has grown to be one of the biggest conventions on the east coast. But perhaps the con committee doesn't know about UFO or is a little young? Join the committee and see if you can get his name submitted. From what I've read about Ed's con appearances he only charges expenses which might make him interesting to a convention committee paying big $$$ for Star Trek, Star Wars and Babylon 5 guests! |

I just bought the first box set of Space Precinct from Blackstar! Great stuff, I remember it running here on Sunday nights at 2:00am! My 5 year old daughter also liked it, I made sure to show her the documentary first so she wouldn't be scared by the aliens in the show. She loves the pizza delivery guy in the first episode on the first DVD! |

Phil- I don't know that I would call a convention that drew less than a hundred people successful, but I am sure everyone there had a good time. > > Want to get Ed Bishop or other UFO cast to Dragon con? DragonCon does not pay for guests; almost all have something to promote or sell and pay their own way, or have a movie company pay for their appearance. In some cases the onvention will pay expenses for a guest, but it would have to be someone with a pretty big name that couldn't get sponsorship from elsewhere. Don't look for UFO or Gerry Anderson guests at DragonCon unless Carlton sends them to promote the UFO DVD releases. You would have better luck writing them or A & E and suggesting that scenario.
