Have their been any guests announced that were involved in UFO? That's
what it might take to attract more UFO fans!

I dn't think there's been much announced actually! But it will probably be my one and only chance to get to a convention, and I do enjoy all Gerry Anderson produtions, - well, most of them, even Terrahawks! Besides, its aweekend away!! It would be nice to meet up with other UFO fanatics-- ooops, sorry, fans!

Yes, I didn't think so either... I did spend a few minutes
of effort hooking up the con organizers with a potential
UFO guest actress, but so far I haven't seen if anything
has come of that...

Yes, I'm ashamed to say. There was something rather perverted about the programme! I haven't got it on DVD though.... not that keen! (I'll go and hide in the cellar now!)

Isn't Swindon where that dreadful series "The Office" is based? The UK version... If I am wrong, apologies... and also apologies to anyone that lives in Swindon... mind you, it could be worse (Slough or Croydon come to mind...)

Don't know about it being a joke, it's a town west of London. The source of
the name means "pig hill".

Swindon is a town in Wiltshire famous for being the home of victorian bridgebuilder I.K Brunel and the current home of Brunel University. It was also the place where all the great steam railway engines were built.

The Brits built pantywaist steam.  Just my opinion.

Yes, USA built great engines, but ours were beautiful!! Flying Scotsman... etc. Fabulous machines... and don't forget it was an Englishman ( I hope you ARE English Gerry Anderson!) who created some of the best machines ever 'invented'!!! ( and I like Americans!)

Fair enough, Rob.  : )  But show me a British steam loco with tractive effort anywhere near some of the bigger stuff in the US.  Our medium sized stuff outpulls your large stuff.  So in the speed category, the Brits win (but not by much).  In brute force, US stuff wins.  The Brits made many fine steam locos.  I personally just don't like the looks of most of it.  Not really meant to be a slight, just personal preference.  : )

And the aliens in their UFOs go really fast, lol.

On reflection I think its the firebox - -you know - where they shovel the coal into!!
And yes,the railways would disagree with me about beauty, but boy, some of these engines are truly magnificent.
