To install any of the screensavers. Unzip to any folder.
Then right click on the file. There will be an install option. Or just copy to your Windows directory. Years ago there was a UFO flight sim for free on-line, does anyone
have it still, and if so could they upload to the files section? Thanks Jon |

Thank you for the file, I'll have to load it back up on my old 120
mhz 95 machine since it seems to crash out of the game for some reason under 2000 --- In SHADO@y..., Dave Walsh <darqnyt@h...> wrote: > Actually, I just uploaded it to > http://members.home.net/darqnyt/files/shado.zip |

Hi all,
It's been 2 months since we decided to take a break from the episode of the week discussions. Shall we start up again, or should we continue to take a break? After all, August is typically a slow month for the mailing list, due to many people being on vacation. If we want to begin again, the next episode on the list is: THE SQUARE TRIANGLE -- Marc Martin, [hidden email] |

I like the idea of discussing the episodes, especially now that I have them all. But I hate this episode, so don't expect to hear from me this week. Maybe next week, since whatever episode it is, it'll be an improvement on this one. Unfortunatly, I only have a couple of the episodes on tape that Amazon.com offer, I only have vague recollections of seeing the show on Tv when I was 4. IS there any place to see the shows streaming on the net or at least some small cheesy mpegs of the shows so I can get an idea what they were about? If not, Anderson should set up a place on the net to watch all the different shows, I'd pay for that subscription I want my Atv!!! |

Someone like to let me know how this Episode-of-the-week discussion works?
I'm new to the list but have been a fan of UFO since its inception...and grew up with Torchy, Stingray, Fireball and Thunderbirds. I've also seen most of the UFO episodes in 3 countries and two languages (but all shown on a Saturday morning) - the UK, Germany and the US, which is where I am now, San Francisco to be exact. I am also a fan of Star Trek and, following an initial loathing of Voyager, became an avid convert from the third series. I have a few episodes on tape but would like to know more about the DVD versions. Anyone know what regions they will be produced for? If anyone has any episode in DIVX/CD format (or knows of a site), let me know. I've scoured GNUtella with LimeWire and Bearshare but with no success. I guess my favourite character was the Doc, something sinister and cold war about him, especially the way he said "Straker". Favourite episode? The one where the probe followed the UFO back to its home world...I also liked the strange radiophonic whistle the lunar hopper made. Another thing, I've never been to any kind of convention in my life but would make an exception for UFO, especially if I get enough notice, so if you have dates and venues, let me know. >would make an exception for UFO, especially if I get enough notice, so if >you have dates and venues, let me know. The only pure-UFO conventions held these days are in Italy. If you want an English-language convention, then the FANDERSON conventions are your best bet. The next FANDERSON convention will be held next May, just outside Birmingham England. Although the FANDERSON conventions are devoted to all Gerry Anderson productions, I think that you'll find there's enough to satisfy a UFO fan. At least, *I* was quite satisfied by the previous FANDERSON convention, and am planning on going to the next one. -- Marc Martin, [hidden email] |

> If we want to begin again, the next episode on the list is: > > THE SQUARE TRIANGLE > > -- > Marc Martin, marc@u... "The Square Triangle", hmmmmm. I haven't seen that episode for a while, but I think I quite enjoyed it. From what I remember the only thing that was occasionally off-putting was Patrick Mower's cheesy acting in parts, but on the other hand he was playing a womaniser and manipulating the lady in question to remove her husband from the love "triangle". My memory is hazy on the middle part of the story but the last few minutes of the episode are superb. Without hopefully giving too much away, the realisaton that they've been given the amnesia (<sp?) drug and then later the chilling end credits sequence (the only time it changed in the series) are superb highlights of the show. One of the many good points about UFO is that the producers/writers of the show didn't feel it was necessary to always end on a high. So often we are treated to an hour of drama, where crimes have been committed and people killed, and then you get the happy tag sequence at the end where everyone's laughing, seemingly oblivious to what's gone before. That was so superbly spoofed in the "Police Squad" tv series where the characters had a laugh and the action supposedly froze - except it didn't and they just tried to stand very still! Having looked at only a few episodes very recently I was surprised when "Computer Affair" actually ended with a wry smile on Straker's face. Of course, this is not a normal occurence and you only have to think of the way the first episode ends - very darkly. Even my least favourite episodes of "UFO" are still good and enjoyable and the "The Square Triangle" certainly isn't at the bottom of the list. Jonathan Wood |

No-one (I hope) will take it personally and it might make for an interesting discussion. For some reason I always feel more inclined to comment on the episodes I dislike than the ones I enjoy more .. maybe you're not as mean-spirited and unpleasant as me :) It's not one of the very best episodes, but it's a long way from being one of the worst in my opinion. I'd personally be really interested to know why you dislike it. Actually Dave's post (hello & welcome Dave!) also reminded me that we have a wide spectrum of opinion regarding individual episodes - Dave's favourite episode being 'Close Up', which I personally think is pretty dire! Can't wait for that one to come round in Episode of the Week again ;) Cheers James |
Hi All,
update on ISOSHADO UFO MERCHANDISE COLLECTION Two new scans from the germany magazine BRAVO N° 32 (1971). The text is in germany language; the two photos (of Ed Straker and Ed Bishop) are interesting. The Straker's photo is from TIMELASH, and the Bishop's photo is taken in family attitude with a dog.
