Hi Teresa - we really should get together on this trading thingy because I
still have two eps of The Invaders you were interested in bit ago. I only have 6 UFO eps - I'll check which ones and get back to you - but I know I have Confetti, Psychobombs, Sub Smash and Court Martial for sure. I got them from amazon.com earlier this year. Let's get together on this! Ciao - Pam |

The rest of my episodes I have gotten from Cinema Classics. I believe that they do NTSC conversions of PAL video there at the store. As a result, the episodes vary from very good (Survival) to barely watchable (Long Sleep). Let me know what are the other two UFO episodes you have. I am definitely open to trade for The Invaders also. Do you have the Pilot? Please reply via email as I lost your address. I tried sending thru yahoo but it crashed and ate my message (I'll copy this and try again). I'm picking up a bunch of new blank tapes at BJ's this weekend. |

Actually, I don't think you can blame the poor quality of "The Long Sleep" on Cinema Classics or the conversion from PAL to NTSC. I think if you ask our subscribers in the UK, you'll find that "The Long Sleep" was barely watchable when watching an original Polygram/Digital Entertainment PAL tape on a PAL VCR/TV. -- Marc Martin, [hidden email] |

It *is* pretty poor, I'm sorry to say. James |

I don't think it's been mentioned here, but Suzanne mentioned
elsewhere that this past weekend the UK Sci-Fi Channel showed "The Cat With Ten Lives" as episode #3, following "Identified" and "Exposed". So it looks like they've chosen to use the original 1970 UK broadcast order for ATV Midlands, which is shown in my "UFO Frequently Asked Questions" page at: http://ufoseries.com/faq.html#16 Rather a silly order, and if they keep that up it means "Conflict" is next week... -- Marc Martin, [hidden email] |

That's the order I remember them in though! Still its a good job they didn't follow the order of some regions which failed to start with Identified. (A minor point - by 1970 ATV Midlands was just ATV.) Jez -- |

Suzanne writes about the Digital Entertainment UFO video #11:
>Huh? I can see The Long Sleep just fine. Yeah, but doesn't it look a bit too reddish to you? As if someone put a giant red filter in front of your TV screen? Also, doesn't it look a bit murky, as if someone had sent you a copy of a copy of VHS tape? Or did I simply get a bad copy, and the rest of them have nice bright whites & are crystal clear? -- Marc Martin, [hidden email] |

Nope. Mine looks just exactly as you described, so you are not alone. |

They used the exact same source materials as the Polygram tapes, and they look just as bad. The Japanese laserdisc of THE LONG SLEEP (which was released way back in 1992) looks *much* better. -- Marc Martin, [hidden email] |
